Anagramming her own name, Nicola, to come up with the label name Olanic is typical of Nicola Taylor's playful approach to the fashion creation process. Deemed "one to watch" by The Times, Nicola's first collection debuted in 2004 at Paris Fashion Week and her pieces have been in demand ever since. Olanic's latest collection, The Boys, works with the tailoring of conformist uniforms (in the old-fashioned sense), echoing their structure by layering the shoulder area. Working with Scottish textile company Locharron, Nicola has created fabrics with woven pinstripes in pink as well as soft grey and black that are now exclusive to Olanic. Silks, satins mixed with chiffon and leather are stitched and layered to amazing effect—think big bows and voluminous tailoring that will out-trend anything of-the-moment. Available at exclusively at Ninaandlola.com.
